We love truffle,
so we have set up this site, and the related services. We sell
fresh truffles gathered in Hungary, preserved truffle products imported
from Italy, truffle slicers, and offer truffle hunting trips. Please
find here an introduction to our products.

Fresh truffles
When we say fresh truffles, we are serious about it. We do not
keep them on stock, but bring them right from the forest on the
order. This way our truffles are 0-4 days old when delivered. Ordinary
life span: 2-3 weeks, if properly stored.
The price of the truffles change weekly, for actual prices please
call or write an e-mail.

(Tuber magnatum)
The most expensive and most spicy truffle.
For one meal ca. 5 g is necessary.
Available: November - December. |

Summer truffle (Burgundy truffle)
Tuber aestivum (Tuber uncinatum)
In trade terms this is the most impotant one in Hungary.

| Smooth black truffle aka Garlic truffle
(Tuber macrosporum)
A real best buy. Much say it is very similar to Black truffles,
but way cheaper.

Winter truffle
(Tuber brumale)

| Chinese truffle
(Tuber indicum)
Straight from China. Big, attractive truffles, black marble-like
inside. It's flavour is close to summer truffles. Can be stored
for several weeks. Available: October - February. |

| Desert truffle
(Terfezia terfezoides)
Nothing like any of the above. Fruity flavour, soft body,
tastes sweet. An unusual experience. For deserts mainly.

Storing fresh truffles
Keep them at 0-1 C (32-34 F), in an airtight box with some paper
inside that soaks moist. Once a day wipe the box dry, change the
paper, and check each truffle. Remove the soft ones, those are not
edible any more. Brush the ones with white mould on the surface.
These are still perfectly consumalbe. This way truffles can be kept
up to 2-3 weeks. Still we suggest: eat them as soon as possible.
Truffles are expensive, but the most expensive are the ones in the
litter bin..

Truffle sauce

The jar contains thick sauce with mushroom morsels, made of
champions, extra virgin olive oil, black olives, vegetables, summer
truffle (Tuber Aestivum, 5%), glutamate based taste intensifier,
salt, spices and aromas. After opening keep it in refrigerator. Make
sure the oil covers the sauce.
A product with an intense taste, that most people just love. It
is ready for use, so simply put it on the pasta, meat or sandwiches.
It can be mixed to sauces, creme soups, but should not be cooked! We
offer this product for those who go for fast and certain success
with the meal they serve, and for the ones who want to enjoy the
taste of truffle for a reasonable price.
"Once in a lifetime" idea: take a high quality
camembert with its wooden box, and put it in the hot oven for 10
minutes. Pour the sauce on the melted cheese, and serve it with
green salad (e.g. ricola) and vinaigrette.

Truffle condiment oil

The glass is filled with extra virgin olive oil, flavoured with
the aroma of the most expensive (much say the best of all) truffle,
the white truffle (Tuber magnatum). The general truffle rule
applies: don't cook or heat the oil! It is economic and versatile:
use it on salads, put a few drops in soups or sauces, but only when
they are ready. Excellent with pasta or carpaccio. We offer
this product for everyone, since it is a condiment of universal use,
and good value for money.
"Once in a lifetime" idea: half avocados,
remove the stone, fill it with nice, fat king prawns, and flavour
them with a few drops of truffle condiment oil.

Truffle slicers
The traditional tools of serving truffles are truffle slicers.
These adjustable slicers can cut as thin as 0.2 mm slices so that
the full flavour of the truffle can be exposed. The wooden parts are
made of plissander. The blade is very sharp so it is to be handled
with caution, especially when slicing small bits of truffle. After
use retract the blade into the frame. Beside truffles, the slicers
can be used for vegetables, cheese, etc. and wherever fine slices
are necessary. An idea: decorate your Waldorf salad with extreme
thin nut sections.
